Ten-Minute Oral Presentations
To have your research abstract considered for a 10 minute oral presentation in one of the 15 concurrent sessions: select ‘Consider for 10 minute oral presentation’ when submitting your abstract.
Oral abstract submission deadline: April 30
Two-Minute Oral Poster Presentations (must present poster as well)
To have your research abstract considered for a brief 2 minute ‘Oral Poster’ presentation in one of the 15 concurrent sessions: select ‘Consider for 2 minute oral poster presentation’ when submitting your abstract.
Oral abstract submission deadline: April 30
Definition: The ‘Oral Poster presentation’ is a brief introduction to your research poster that you will present during the conference poster sessions. This speaking opportunity allows you to advertise your poster and draw visitors for further discussion at poster sessions. Therefore, it is most appropriate to develop a set of slides that briefly introduce your research at an overview level, not a highly detailed level, in order to raise interest in the audience, who can engage in more detailed discussions during the poster session, where you are required to present a research poster.
Oral Poster presentations can be at most 2 minutes long and contain a maximum of 5 slides (including your title slide).
Poster Presentations
All paid attendees to ICAR 2014 are allowed to present one research poster. In addition, if that submitted abstract is selected for a 2 or 10-minute oral presentation (or for a community workshop) you may still present it in a poster presentation (note: if you are selected for a 2 minute oral poster presentation you must also present the same abstract in a poster presentation during the two evening poster sessions.)
To present your research in a poster only (i.e. NOT be considered for an oral presentation) select ‘Poster Only’ when submitting your abstract.
Poster only abstract submission deadline: May 31
Additional Notes
-
You must submit your abstract by April 30 to be considered for an oral presentation in concurrent sessions.
-
If your abstract isn’t selected for an oral presentation it will automatically be included in the poster sessions.
-
You must submit your abstract by May 31 if you want to present a poster only.
-
You may be considered for a 2-minute or a 10-minute oral presentation but can only present one. In the case that your abstract is selected in both categories you will be given the choice of which you prefer to present.
-
Please contact the organizers to inform them that you will not need poster space if you are selected for a 10-minute oral presentation and you do NOT wish to also present a poster. (If you are selected for a 2-minute oral presentation you are still required to also present a poster on the same research during the evening poster sessions.)
